Error message in "View Site" on iPad App – "Certificate for erver invalid"
-
When I try to use the “View site” tab in my WordPress App on my iPad I get the following message:
“The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “builtblog.net” [my own blog] which could put your confidential informaiton at risk.”
I cannot get past this message.
I recently bought the domain “www.builtblog.net” (as the focus of my blog – originally hosted on https://gateleyprocurement.wordpress.com has changed and I wanted the domain name to reflect that).
I wonder if the two events are connected?
If you can help, please, that would be great – the “view site” facility is excellent.
Thanks

Hi David,
Your domain seems to be set up correctly so I don’t think its the cause of your problem. We’ve had a quite a few reports of a similar nature over the past two days so it seems like there’s a server-side problem where we’re incorrectly flagging certain sites as insecure.
Is the problem still happening now? If yes, are you able to send me a screenshot of the error you’re seeing?

Thanks for looking at this for me. Yes, as of 2 mins ago, it is still happening.
Not sure how to send you a screen shot – I have taken a photo of the error message (screen is frozen when the message is there so I can’t capture it). I’m not sure how to attach the photo from my library to this message!
Thanks
DAVID

Hi David, If you upload the screenshot to your blog’s media library I can access it from my end that way.

Richard
Thanks – I have now done that.
It is unimaginatively titled: “Invalid Certificate Error Message”.
I look forward to hearing.

DAVID

Hi David,
Quick suggestion: have you tried updating the iPad app to the latest version?
Thanks
Richard
