Error Message: Sorry, this comment cannot be posted
-
Suddenly I am unable to post on sites that use WP that I frequent. When hitting the POST button I am thrown to a blank page with the error message ‘Sorry, this comment cannot be posted’. However, if I go to my WP profile to access the article, I am able to post without a problem. Please assist so that this issue is resolved!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you been following many new sites in a very short timeframe?
Have you been posting many comments in a very short timeframe? Are you running the latest version of your browser? Please act on all the tips here https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/Please provide the URL of a post that you submitted a comment to and received this message on as I tagged this page for Staff follow-up. https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

No new sites, I’m a regular on the two where the postings failed.
I received the error messages while at:
https://www.neonrevolt.com/
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/Happened both on my ASUS laptop with fully updated latest Firefox 6 browser on Windows 10 & on my desktop ditto.
Yesterday I did try multiple attempts after receiving the message the first time on neonrevolt. Then tried to post instead as a “reply” to see if I got the same message and it happened again so I gave up. This morning I got the same error message at theconservativetreehouse.

Are you signed in to your account in the same web browser? That’s needed in order to comment as described.

The neonrevolt site is not hosted with us, so we have no control over how commenting on that site works, but I see nothing on the other site that would indicate you shouldn’t be able to comment there.
However, if I go to my WP profile to access the article, I am able to post without a problem
Are you speaking of replying via your notifications here? And if you view a post from the site in the Reader, can you comment there?
If it’s only on the front end of the site, the most likely cause is a problem with cookies. When you click on the comments box, does it show your profile picture underneath, indicating you’re logged into WordPress.com? And on the conservativetreehouse site, do you see the black WordPress.com admin bar along the top of the screen?
If the answer to either of those are no, it means we’re not able to detect that you’re logged into your account. Even if both those are true, please make sure that third party cookies are enabled in your browser, then clear all browser cookies and log back in.
Another possibility is a browser add-on that’s either blocking cookies, or blocking some of the code the comments form uses. If you have any privacy/anti-tracking or ad-blocker add-ons in your browser, please try disabling those to see if that makes any difference.

Both sites show that I’m logged into WordPress. I can LIKE other posts but I was unable to post my own comments.
Oddly, last evening and again this morning I’m able to post again without the error message without my changing a thing.
I do have Adblock installed on both devices so possibly there was a temporary glitch on their end that is now resolved.
In any event, things are back to normal. I really appreciate all the help from the WordPress staff!
