Error Message/Unable to Follow Blogs

    I’ve been trying to follow some new blogs today, and all I get is an error message that says “Sorry, there was a problem following [url]. Please try again.”

    I think I may have been prevented from following new blogs because I’ve followed several (interesting sounding) blogs all at once.

    Is there a limit on how many you can follow in a day?

    Yes exactly, you can’t follow multiple blogs at a time. The timeframe and number of blogs follow at a time doesn’t reveal for obvious reasons.

    And if you can’t follow blogs because of some other reason, then post the URL of the blog here. I have tagged modlook for staff to help you out with this. Staff will be in touch within a few hours to look into.

    Hi @katygaza, @testingchanel is correct. You’ll need to avoid bulk following as that can get spammy. If you’re following a bunch of people to get them to follow you back, or bulk following a bunch of people back just because they followed you, that can get you blocked. It looks like you were automatically unblocked already, but the system will permanently block you at some point if you continue bulk following.

    If you’re following each site after reading some of their content and finding it interesting, you should be fine.

    Still, if you’re struggling to find enough interesting content in the reader, or if your aim was to follow several sites on a particular topic, consider following a topic instead. You can search for a tag or link to it directly, like this:
    https://wordpress.com/tag/astronomy

    Hi,
    Same error message comes for me too. I am unable to follow any blogs (P.S. I did follow many bloggers in a short amount of time related to same topic) , I don’t know we could get banned for this !!

    Word press should tell this before hand to new bloggers btw.

    Can anything be done now? Or is it a perma ban ?
