Error message unresolved
-
Help! I know this must be simple… but following the guidelines isn’t resolving my issue. I have two blogs. On both I changed my Settings/reading to my “latest posts” from a static “About” front page. Now I get an error message, when on my “About” and “Introduction” pages when I click on “Blog” to return to my blog posts. What did I do wrong???
My two sites:

http://resonantvelocity.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
On your first site, you can view your blog posts on the front page of the site here: http://poetryoflight.org/
There isn’t a separate blog page on that site, so you’ll get an error message if you try to visit this link: http://poetryoflight.org/blog/
The same is true on your second site. Since the blog posts are on the front page of the site, you can visit this link to view them: http://resonantvelocity.wordpress.com/
Please let me know if you have any questions about that.

I’ve been messing with it since submitting this query and what you’ve mentioned is the result. It works OK to substitute HOME for BLOG on Poetry of LIght because the program essentially accomplished what I need. I guess I’ve not been able to substitute my own menu on either link. My problem seems to be more the navigation within the sight. At least I’m not getting error messages anymore but on Resonant Velocity a person still needs to use the back button when on AN INTRODUCTION to return to the posts???? I was unable to use my own menu and have it respond without an error message.

The way it’s set up right now, on your site at http://resonantvelocity.wordpress.com/ , visitors can click on the site title to return to the front page with your blog posts.
If you’d like, you can set up a custom menu on your site under Appearance > Menus in the dashboard. You can then create a custom link to your site’s front page with a label like “Home” or “Blog.” We have a guide to setting up a custom menu and custom links here: Custom Menus
If you have any questions about this, please let me know!

OK….now we’re getting down to it. I started with custom menus on both sites starting with a static page. ABOUT was static and BLOG brought people to my posts. When I wanted to change to the default, neither site would accept a new custom menu. Each new menu brought up error messages and the old menu also stayed up on Poetry of Light so there were two of everything.
On Resonant Velocity the custom menu just brought up error messages. It’s not rocket science and I’m good at following directions. What I have up there now is at least functioning so I’m OK with it, but would like to understand what the glitch was???? -
It’s very hard to say what happened without seeing it on your site. If you are happy with the current layout, there’s no problem with that.
If you’d like to try using a static front page and custom menus, you can set those up and I’d be happy to take a look and see what’s happening. I just can’t really say what might have happened before, because I can no longer see the settings you had on your blog when you got those errors.
