Error message when I access my sight

  Does anyone know why I would get the following message when I access my sight? “Warning: ob_start() [ref.outcontrol]: output handler ‘ob_gzhandler’ cannot be used after ‘URL-Rewriter’ in /home/thesimon/public_html/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 829”

  It appears at the very top of my page above the header, and when I refresh the page, it goes away.

  Is your blog hosted at WordPress.com, or is it using WordPress software but hosted elsewhere? Because we’ll only be able to help you in the case of the first. What is the actual URL of the blog?

  But to answer the question, ob_start is the gzip compressor. try turning off that option. Dashboard -> Options -> I forget which page it’s on in there but look for gzip or compression. You’re using different software than we do here. It’s covered int eh please read me first sticky at the top of the forums.

  Thanks guys……I spelled “site” wrong too….nice.

  I do run a WP blog on my own server…..I didn’t realize wordpress.com isn’t affiliated with wordpress.org

  I’ll check out gzip options….thanks again
