Error message when trying to register new domain
-
I am trying to create a website for our little association. However, I get a message stating my choice cannot be registered because it is reserved. Then, when I type it in to view I get an error message saying it doesn’t exist. Can anyone help me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Looks like you already own http://fernacresassociation.wordpress.com/
What’s the desired name that you can’t register?
-
I went with what I have now because I couldn’t use the other one. I would prefer to change it to fernacres.wordpress.com

I’m afraid the name has been reserved because there is a username ‘fernacres‘ which was registered October 1, 2015 (4 months).
wordpress.com automatically reserve the domain fernacres.wordpress.com to the user who owns the username fernacres.
Unless you already own the account with that username, you’ll need to choose a different, unique address for your site.

Is there a way to find out the email address of who reserved it? My association has been trying to update their website for some time now and I am wondering if someone else created it and is no longer helping us. I recently stepped in and no one I am talking to has done anything, but there used to be another person helping, but they are not around anymore.

I’m sorry but that’s beyond my capability.
But you can buy TLD (top level domain) and map http://fernacresassociation.wordpress.com/ to the new address, i.e: fernacres.net, fernacr.es.
*unfortunately the .com and .org is no longer available, unless you’re willing to make offer. You can see more available domain here:
