Error message when using checkout

Hello there, our customers have been receiving a error message whilst trying to checkout on our WordPress website.
The error message customers receive is ‘An error occurred, please try again or try an alternate form of payment’
I was wondering if someone could help me fix this issue as soon as possible so that we are able to continue operating.
I would like to note that originally we thought it was a issue with our payment provider however when contacting them, they checked and can confirm that it is not a problem with Square, and that we should get in contact with WordPress to resolve the issue.
