Error Message(s)
-
For about one week I have been unable to use our WordPress account. I cannot save Drafts. Cannot preview posts. Cannot Post a new post. I receive the error: ‘Updating failed. An unknown error occurred.’ What might be happening? How might I remedy this?

If I try to Preview a post, the error I receive is “Oops! That page can’t be found.”
“It looks like nothing was found at this location.”
I’m feeling a bit stuck, frankly. I’d thought maybe it was a fluke, a one day blooper, but it’s been occurring for about a week plus.
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

I’m having the same problem, same error messages. I posted something Friday and have been unable to update since.

Hi there,
This sounds like a cache issue. Have you tried logging in using a different browser or clearing your browser’s cache?
-
I cleared my cache in Chrome and still had the problem.
Then I started Firefox, cleared the cache there, and was able to do the edits in that browser.
Thanks!

Ok, for Chrome, first please make sure it’s up to date: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95414
If not, please update it.
If it is, please try with all extensions temporarily disabled: https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/answer/2664769
If that works, please enable each extension one-by-one until you find the one causing the conflict.

Can you also please try Chrome in incognito mode and see if it works then? Trying to pinpoint the issue.
Thanks,
-
Looks like my message that “it worked” didn’t make it through before.
It works in incognito mode.
Thanks!

If it works in incognito, it points to cookies as a probably cause, so see if manually deleting all WordPress.com and wp.com cookies help. You can also just try clearing cookies completely, but that will log you out everywhere in that browser.
