Error msg: Page not published

    My front page sidebar has an error msg: Error this page has not been published. My Sites/Pages says it was published 23 hours ago. I’m a WP newbie and don’t know how to proceed. Help? Thank you.

    Hello!

    I am not able to see any error messages at the front page of your blog and everything seems to be working properly. I am using the latest version of Chrome. Which browser are you using?

    Also, could you capture a screenshot of the front page and the error message on the screen, upload it to Media of your site and then paste the URL to it here?

    This way, we can all check what you are seeing when you view the front page of your blog. Thanks!

    Hi dakisha,

    Thanks for waiting. I was alerted that malware was trying to get into my computer; Dell took over, scanned and cleaned thoroughly.

    I’m relieved that you can’t see the error message. My client and I have been using both Chrome and IE, and the screen results don’t match! In this case the problem is on the Chrome version.

    I believe I have the latest version of Chrome (2014). I know how to do a screen shot but am uncertain as to uploading it to Media. Once there I can easily paste the URL. Sorry to be so young to Windows 8.1.

    Can you guide me to Media? Meanwhile, I’ll make the screenshot.

    Okay, I have a .png file and a Word file from the Chrome version. Would sending it via email work?

    Hm, if the problem is only with your Chrome, I suggest clearing your browser cache and cookies and disabling all extensions in order to check whether one of them is causing the problem. Since my latest version of Chrome doesn’t detect any problems and errors with your blog.

    You can also check the latest browser versions here:

    And to upload a screenshot to Media, just navigate to your site’s WP Admin area. It should be located at – http://thegolfingbard.wordpress.com/wp-admin – and by using your WordPress.com credentials, you will be able to log in.

    From there, navigate to Media -> Add new and upload the screenshot.

    Should I expect that one of us using IE and the other Chrome would result in odd errors? (We didn’t know we had used two browsers until a few days ago.)

    You are most welcome, Jude :)

    I don’t believe that these kinds of errors you just experience should repeat themselves after you locate the culprit among the Chrome extensions or its cache/cookies.

    However, please do know that some parts of the website might look different depending on the browser you are using to view it. That’s the “beauty” of the internet and having more than one browser :)
