Ooops…Where did you get such a link ?

    Has anyone seen this before?

I logged out earlier and have just logged back in to find this error on the front page/ HOME tab.
All other 5 tabs/pages are fine, but I cant work out how to fix it.

[Server cannot locate what you are looking for!

The Server tried all of its options before returning this page to you.

You are looking for something that is not here now.
You can always try doing a search or browsing through the Archives.
Don’t lose your hope just yet.]

I looked in archives etc as suggested but there is nothing there to restore.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m not sure what the problem with the tabs are, but I’m having a similiar problem. The only tab that is working on the homepage is the status tab. when I click on reader or new posts the content area is blank; as when I click on “Freshly Pressed and “Topics.” If I can figure something out I will revisit this post.

    Thanks ciii307.

If I can work out how to just get rid of the HOME page and try to recreate it might solve the problem but I can’t seem work out how.

I’ll keep trying and let you know if I work it out also.

You don’t have any posts. You deleted the placeholder post. That is why you’re getting an error message on your main blog page; the page where the posts go.

As soon as you create a post, that error message will go away.

I have put posts on and the HOME page still has arrors. Problem being now that the posts are on the recipe page.

I seem to have a similar problem. I am able to log in and see my blogs, my stats and Freshly Pressed but if I click on Reader, it logs me out of wp.com. So annoyed!

    @lunchforkids
Pages are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.

The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.

    Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page

Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.

If you choose Choice 1 static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

Hi timethief thats sorted it. Thanks so much for your help. I’m very new at this so am struggling along.

Can I ask another question please. At the moment on the from page I have a column down the right hand side as part of this themes layout showing categories, pages, blog roll etc. I want to change these and the way this area appears.

    For example
I dont want the pages information to appear here and only display as pages and for the recipe page to have a drop down menu when you hover there.

Instead of the categories section I want to put a small static piece like an article.

I’m changing these things is quite easy and I’ve been over and over the dashboard area trying to work out how.
