Error regarding PHP
-
Dear all,
I was updating my plugins and got an error message during the update. Now when I try to load the website I get the following message: Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ‘>= 7.2.0’. You are running 7.0.33-0ubuntu0.16.04.16. Your Composer dependencies require the following PHP extensions to be installed: bcmath
Is there any way to update the PHP extensions? I do have a backup from July which can be used otherwise to restore the site but I’m not sure how to use it.
Kind regards,

Hey Job,
What’s the URL of the site?
Also is it hosted at WordPress.com or is it built using WordPress’s open-source software and hosted with another hosting provider?
This forum is for support with sites hosted at WordPress.com so if it is hosted with elsewhere, you may find the answer you’re looking for over at the WordPress.org forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Depending on the level of support that is included with your hosting plan, your webhost’s support team may also be able to assist.
If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and the open-source WordPress software you can read this article:

Dear Theabhig,
Thank you for your reply!
I’m pretty sure the site uses the free plan of WordPress.com. The website can be found at: Hyperloop Connected. I hope this gives you more insight into the problem.

Hi there,
The site hyperloopconnected.org appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on Cloudflare DNS Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.
You can confirm here: https://gwhois.org/hyperloopconnected.org+dns
To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and it appears that you have a WordPress site provided by a different host. Please note that they use a different version of the platform than what we use here, and sites on WordPress.com hosting do not display that kind of error message. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.
You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: http://wordpress.org/support/
You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance.
Hope that points you in the right direction!
