"Error saving media attachment" still isn't a helpful error message

    I’ve paid for the space upgrade on my wordpress.com hosted blog and have used it for years, but can not upload any audio file (in this case a simple mp3) without getting the “error saving media attachment” notice. I have 3GB of space. The files I’m attempting to upload at about 1MB. Every support or forum post I find on the subject is closed with the topic unresolved. I’ve cleared the cache. I’ve used different browsers (never IE), I’ve even tried different computers to no avail.

    Suggestions?

    This is vexing, several help request threads, all closed, as far as I know all unresolved, and the unhelpful error message is STILL unhelpful.

    I could have written what the blogger above wrote, my circumstances are the same, I did the same stuff in similar ways with similar results, I am equally unhelped by that unhelpful error message, just my blog is different:

    I don’t see any space upgrades on your account. You did have a 5 GB Space Upgrade, but it expired on May 28, 2012.

    You’ll need to purchase a new Space Upgrade to unlock the ability to upload audio files.

    staff-blorbo, you’re absolutely right, I went and got the space upgrade again, and lo, issue resolved, fantastic! :)

    Having said that, I would suggest that the error message is in need of some attention. I would have liked to have an error message pointing me at things to check without having to bother anybody here.

    Nevertheless, I thank you for pointing me at the solution.
