Error when adding page

  I recently changed my theme. When I try to add a page, I get an error message “The editor has encountered an unexpected error.” When I click on attempt recover, it get a new error message that my site refused to connect. I have tried doing this in the block editor by clicking change layout and by adding a new page. Neither works. Can someone tell me what the problem is?

  Could you try something? What happens if you add a new page from the old Dashboard interface: https://cdpulleyblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page

  Does that create a page successfully?

  If I add a new page and click use this page quickly, I can add the page. If I linger too long, I get the same error. Not sure what the issue is, but it seems to be working now…kind of. Thank You

  Hi there,

  Can you just confirm that this is happening on http://cdpulleyblog.wordpress.com/? You should never see any errors regarding blog connection at all on that site.

  You can potentially see that error on the other site in your account where you’re a member, https://worldindiewarriors.org/, as that site is hosted on our Business Plan and relies on a connection with the Jetpack plugin to work.

  If this is happening on http://cdpulleyblog.wordpress.com/, please check if logging out, deleting all WordPress.com cookies from your browser, and then logging back in helps.

  I logged out, deleted cookies, and logged back in. It took longer this time, but it still happened. I tried to change my blog layout, got the “The editor has encountered an error” error and when I tried to hit new page again (all I see at this point is a white screen)on the left-hand side, I get the site refused to connect error.

  I tried in Safari and it did not happen. I tried changing the layout for another page in Chrome again, and I did not get error messages. Can’t say it won’t happen tomorrow, but it is not happening today.
