Error when following blogs

  I’ve been trying to follow some new blogs today, and all I get is an error message that says “Sorry, there was a problem following [url]. Please try again.”

  From other threads I’ve read on this topic, I think I may have been prevented from following new blogs because I’ve unfollowed several inactive blogs all at once. Is there a limit on how many you can follow/unfollow in a day?

  Hey there,
  I do not know the exact number of blogs you can follow or unfollow at any given time, however, if you follow/unfollow too many in a short amount of time, you will be automatically flagged and unable to follow anymore. The system associates this type of behavior with bots and spammers and causes your account to be temporarily blocked from following. If you continue following/unfollowing sites in this way the block will become permanent at some point.
  I believe, only staff can help you out after that happen, so I can tag this post with ‘modlook’ so that a staff member will see it and help you out.

  Looks like that by unfollowing a bunch of blogs at once you triggered our automatic spam prevention mechanism. I have re-enabled the following for your account. Be careful when following/unfollowing blogs in bulk as this behavior will block you again in the future.
