error when setting up email forwarding from custom domain
-
I have a wordpress blog at the domain http://www.monkeysontheroad.com and I’m trying to set up email forwarding from a custom email at that domain (eg. (email visible only to moderators and staff)) to automatically forward to my personal gmail. But when I try to set it up, I get this error message:
‘Failed to add email forwarding record with message ‘Can’t get zone because it does not exist: http://www.monkeysontheroad.com.’. Please try again or contact support.’Any idea what’s going on? It might have something to do with the fact that the WordPress page is showing the custom email address as @www.monkeysontheroad.com. <— the part after the @ sign should not include the 'www', but I can't edit it, it's prepopulated by WordPress. I took a screenshot but I don't see how to add it here.
Thank you for your help!Site: https://www.monkeysontheroad.com.
WP.com: Unknown

Thank you, I checked the steps at that link and when I go to my domains it takes me to this error page:
“Domains are not available for this site.
You can only purchase domains for sites hosted on WordPress.com at this time.”I don’t understand because I do have a blog hosted by WordPress with a custom domain of http://www.monkeysontheroad.com.
Do you understand what this error means?

What I recommend is setting that to the side for this next step.
I see that your website host for monkeysontheroad.com is Bluehost. And it’s likely your domain is also managed through Bluehost.
As a next step, reach out directly to Bluehost’s support team: https://www.bluehost.com/contact
Let them know what you are trying to do and see if they can provide more specific help. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you Dean – I’ve realized that I can get the custom domain email at Bluehost, not at WordPress – thanks!
