Error while creating a new website

Hi
I’m a new user and signed up today. I have verified my account.
When trying to create a website called lyhmannsvei5blog.wordpress.com the site asks my to check which plan I want. I choose FREE and was then given the error message “An active access token must be used create a new Site for the User.”I’m using Chrome Version 62.0.3202.89 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Please help :)

Hi,
Try completely logging out of WordPress.com, clear your cache and cookies, and attempt to log back in.
Or try using a different browser than the one that gave the error.
Let us know if you are still seeing the error.

Hi and thank you for your help.
I tried logging out and clearing my cache, but that did not help.
Then I tried, as suggested, a different browser; Internet Explorer.And magic! No problems anymore.
The problem has to be with Google Chrome.

My guess would be that you have a browser extension that was running interference. You could try disabling those and using Chrome once more.

I tried disabling all extensions, then logged out and cleared cache again. When I log back in and try going to my site it just keeps spinning (loading). Is there perhaps an extension that I need when using Chrome?

Can you try these solutions to get the Chrome working:
1. https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
If that doesn’t work, try
2. https://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
Then
3. https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/advanced-browser-troubleshooting/

Thank you both for your help. I couldn’t get it to work properly, but then I read one of the tips listed that I could try switching computers and since the one I’ve been trying work with has been an office computer with IT-rules I do not control, I tried to use my own private laptop and no problems.
I use the exact same version of Chrome and it works fine. The problem has to be with IT-settings.
I think this problem is solved has far as we are able to solve it today.

Happy to hear everything is working from your personal computer.
If you need to access your WordPress.com site from your work computer I suggest working with your IT dept directly. We won’t be able to fix that up from our side.

Just as staff-zinnia has said, you can work with your IT dept to access wordPress.com site using your office computer, oryou can try this
