Error with Customizing my site!

I am not able to customize my site whatsoever under the “Appearance–> Customize”. My screen continues to show “Loading design tools…” on the right side bar, but nothing comes of it. I cannot click or perform any tasks in the gray area in the right. I have tried refreshing the page, clearing the cache, clearing the cookies and have restarted the computer several times. Nothing is working. Help! What do I do?

If you have not purchased the custom design upgrade note that no changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header, etc. which are stated on the theme description pages in the features column (right hand side) will be visible to visitors.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/You do not need to load the design tools unless you have the Custom Design upgrade. All of these functions can be accessed from your dashboard – without loading the custom design tools – no upgrade required.
Appearance > Header
Appearance > Background
Appearance > Theme Options (applicable only to some themes)
Settings > Reading (set a static front page)
Site Title and Tagline > Settings > GeneralIf you are using the preview mode for the Custom Design upgrade some of the settings in that mode will save but they won’t show up on the front end unless you purchase the upgrade.
To go back to the free options, go to Appearance → Themes → Customize → Colors and click the “exit the preview” link in yellow at the top of the panel on the right.

I’m having the same issue – I’m using the free trial for customization. Two days ago I could change the font, colour, sizes etc (which is WHY I’m trying the trial) then yesterday & today, suddenly I can’t. It’s all greyed out.

I am also having this problem. I have paid for the customize upgrade but it isn’t enabled today. my website is http://www.joyfulsurroundingsllc.com. Thank you for helping undo this glitch!

IE11, same as usual. I’ve had customize for a few months and it usually works fine but not today.

I use IE, but, like Viola, up until yesterday there were no issues. Now I can’t even change the background photo or anything. :(

It’s possible there’s a glitch in the way IE and WP.com work together. There have been scattered reports of IE users having similar problems all the last week. If you can, try another browser. If you can’t, see if you’ve enabled compatibility mode and if you have, disable it.

Thanks — I checked and there’s nothing showing incompatibility. Is this a widespread problem? I’m getting frustrated that I paid for customize but I don’t have access to it :-(.

Could you send us a screenshot of the page where you’re seeing this? You can upload the screenshot to your blog’s media library.

I am having trouble with the screenshot, but here’s what happens. I go to Customize under my dashboard and on the right hand blue side bar where it gives you the options of colors, fonts, etc. at the bottom where the lower buttons would normally say “save” or “cancel”, the “save” button says “saved” and is off-line, ie. not available to be pressed. If I press “cancel”, we’re done, but nothing is saved…

Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?

Yes, it’s the same in Firefox. And when I look at my website in Firefox, the fonts look funny and not as I am used to seeing them in Internet Explorer.

If possible, send me a screenshot, so I can better understand the issue. You can simply upload the screenshot to your Media Library, like any other image, and I’ll be able to access it from there.

Thank you for the screenshot. Could you please (temporarily) disable all your browser extensions or any (antivirus, anti-malware) software that might be blocking the connection?
