Good day
I have inserted custom code in my functions.php file, but I get these errors:
[20-May-2024 12:24:19 UTC] PHP Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 1 in /usr/www/users/waantvakxp/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 238 [20-May-2024 12:24:19 UTC] PHP Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 1 in /usr/www/users/waantvakxp/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 239 [20-May-2024 12:24:19 UTC] PHP Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 1 in /usr/www/users/waantvakxp/wp-includes/rewrite.php on line 610
Can somebody please help me with this? I use the Astra theme and it is up to date.

Good day,
I understand you’re encountering PHP warnings related to custom code added to your functions.php file. These errors:
[20-May-2024 12:24:19 UTC] PHP Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 1 in /usr/www/users/waantvakxp/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 238 [20-May-2024 12:24:19 UTC] PHP Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 1 in /usr/www/users/waantvakxp/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 239 [20-May-2024 12:24:19 UTC] PHP Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 1 in /usr/www/users/waantvakxp/wp-includes/rewrite.php on line 610suggest there could be an issue with the regular expressions used in your code. Specifically, it seems a quantifier in your
preg_matchfunction isn’t correctly placed.Since this question is related to a WordPress.org site, it falls outside the regular scope of our support. However, I can suggest a few steps to troubleshoot this issue:
- Double-check the regular expressions in your custom code for any misplaced quantifiers.
- Ensure there are no typos or syntax errors in your functions.php file.
You can use a tool like https://regex101.com/ to identify issues in your regular expressions.
