Errors in establishing a new site

I have had this account since 2011 and haven’t much of anything with it. I’m looking to start a site now and I’ve updated my account information but for some reason it will not let me select a free domain name. It keeps giving suggestions of only paid domains. When I finally got it to give a free domain option, I selected that and it flashed a screen that said congratualtions and then quickly took me back to the domain name screen and gave an error something about an ‘active token’ — I have been trying all day to create a free wordpress site with no luck. Any suggestions on what I can do besides deleting my account (which will result in me not being able to establish a new account for 30 days)?

At WordPress.com, you can get a free custom domain only if you buy any of the paid plans. With the free plan, you can have the subdomain like you have mentioned above.

Which free address would you like to use? If you let me know, I’ll look into why you are unable to select it.

Closing your kristinaleemarketing account won’t prevent you from opening a new account however, that username will be unavailable — meaning it won’t be possible create a new account with that username in the future. Hold off closing your account as I don’t think that’s related to the issue you are describing :)
