Is anyone else experiencing a Site Editor error and no response from WP at the moment?

Hi there!
Sorry for the delay in the response. Are you still experiencing this error? It sounds like this could be browser-related so, would you mind checking a few things first?
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies. You can find here more information on how to clear the cache depending on your browser:

Thanks for the reply @staff-mckluskey I’ve tried clearing the cache and cookies and disabling extensions but still receive the same error. And yes it does seem to be browser related as it’s fine on other computers but not mine.

Hi there,
I’ve visited your site editor but I did not see that ouput. Did you check here or was it one some other page that you saw this error? https://heartofrest.com.au/wp-admin/site-editor.php
If you saw it at a different URL can you share so that we can take a closer look? Thanks!

Hii @staff-totoro, yep on that link I get the error. When I access the same page from another computer it’s not there. But this is my main computer and the one I’ve always worked on my website from so I don’t understand what’s causing it. It began after a WP update that caused other issues with my shop product pages not working so not sure if it’s coincidental or related?!
-
Do you have the same issue if you use a different browser on your computer instead? For example, what if you access your WordPress.com site via Chrome instead of Fireflox?
I’ve tried clearing the cache and cookies and disabling extensions but still receive the same error. And yes it does seem to be browser related as it’s fine on other computers but not mine.

I noticed that you are using an older version of Safari (15.3) and an outdated browser can also cause issues since its not able to stay current with new developments in web technology. Do you have the option to update to the current version of Safari (17.1) at all?
Thanks for the additional info!
-
Ah yep thanks I can see now it’s just Safari I get the error with. Chrome is fine. I’ll be able to update Safari on one computer but definitely not the other due to it’s age so not ideal. Still find it perplexing (and frustrating) that it happened straight after a WP update, surely not everyone is able to keep up to date with the latest technology?
-
Hey there,
Many thanks for that additional information.
This would point to more of a browser issue, rather than a site issue. The most common cause of these issues tends to relate to how Safari deals with cookies.
If you use the Safari browser, go to Safari → Settings → Privacy, and disable the option Prevent cross-site tracking, please More details here.
Does this still happen after this setting is deactivated?
