Errors when writing a post

I want to write a post for a blog, but when I attempt to add a Block and click the plus button, it errors out and kicks be out of the post completely. I have pasted the error message below (it asks me if I want to copy the error message).
I also have trouble with running WordPress in Chrome and have been unable to for months.
Please help!

Thanks for getting back to me.

https://wordpress.com/posts/oddlyobscure.wordpress.comWhen I click Post – Add New Post and then attempt to write a headline, I am then not able to press backspace without the cursor jumping to the beginning of the line. Furthermore, if I start writing the text itself and then press enter, it does add a new block – but if I then click on the plus sign to the right in the new box to add an image or such, the error message appears and the post disappears from the screen and I’m back at the dashboard.
I have tried this on numerous of my sites (including the one for my professional translation business https://sprogpiloten.wordpress.com/), and the problem is the same. I’m about to give up completely. I have lived with not being able to use WordPress in Chrome for so long now, but this really defeats the purpose of having a blog or website with you. I can see from a quick google search that I am not the first one with this problem – I am however not a computer whiz and many of the solutions are a bit much for my abilities.
I really hope you can help.

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/
If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.
If it is, please do these two things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.
