Establishing Publicize?
-
I tried to establish Publicize for my blogs. It doesn’t seem to be working. What I am wondering is, how does this “find” me on Facebook? My Facebook is tied to a different email. Could this be the problem?

Can you walk me through what you’ve done so far? Where did you get up to in these steps?
-
I did all of them. The “Publicize” option appears on the “Add New Post” page, but the notice doesn’t appear on FaceBook. Also, the script for establishing the Publicize connection never asked me for info about my FaceBook account, so I’m not clear how it finds my FaceBook page.

It could be that you set it up a long time ago and the connection just broke.
Would you please try following the full reconnect procedure, especially step 3?

I just set it up yesterday for the first time. I’ve disconnected and re-established in WordPress several times. I also now broke the connection in FaceBook several times before reconnecting.
Part of the problem seems to be that sometimes when I establish FaceBook Sharing through WordPress it only asks the first “Allow” question.
I’ve tried it several more times and it still does not seem to work. What is the lag time between posting to WordPress and appearing on FaceBook?

The one “Allow” question is all you should see.
It won’t Publicize old posts, only new posts that are published after Publicize is setup, and that should occur instantly.

That is not what is happening. I am getting messages that I “Publicize” is not authorized:
To enable Publicize: Facebook, you will need to authorize your WordPress.com account on Notes from the Flyover States to connect with your Facebook account.
Clicking the link below will take you to Facebook where you will need to log in and click “allow” several times.
Authorize connection with Facebook
When I click the link, WordPress tells me, “You have successfully connected your WordPress.com blog with your Facebook account.”
Then when I try to repost with Publicize checked, I get the same error message from WordPress about Publicize not being authorized and clicking the link to connect to FaceBook.
Again, it isn’t working.

Hm, sounds like an corrupt cookie or cache entry interfering.
Please try the reconnect procedure, but stop before step 4.
Then, clear your browser’s cache and cookies: http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
After that, proceed with step 4 of the reconnect procedure.

OK, I got it to work.
First, I cleared the cache, disconnected in both WP and FB, then I restarted my computer, twice. Next, I logged into FB, then WP, then chose FB under Publicize in Manage Blogs. It didn’t work, although this time the Allow window did have my name on it, indicating that it had connected to my FB account. However, it hadn’t set up the data sharing. After trying to establish the connection through Edit Post and having that fail, I then went into Settings/ Sharing and disconnected and reconnected to FB. I then checked FB under Privacy Settings/ Apps, Games and WP had fully connected to FB. I then was able to cross-post from Edit Post/ Publicize.
Thanks.
