Estimated costs

    Hi There,

Looking at the wordpress business plan $299 seems fair but I am just curious as to what additional costs I may be up for beyond that?

I already had an ecommerce site on squarespace but I am currently in the process of redeveloping my site and I can’t achieve certain features I want using that platform any more.

What are the additional costs that would be classed in the required range when it comes to setting up an ecommerce site with wordpress?

    cheers

    Richard

    Hello there,

I’m not sure of any additional costs really site wise… The Business plan is pretty inclusive and robust :-)

It includes a free custom domain name, Jetpack essentials, plugins (like WooCommerce), unlimited storage, PLUS email & live chat support.

Sounds like you have already looked at the plans page. This page goes into a bit more detail on what all is included and can be done with the business plan.

Hope that helps with your decision! :-)

  • Hello Richard,

There is no additional cost from our end, with the only exceptions being if you want to connect more than one domain, or add a paid G Suite email subscription.

That does not mean you won’t incur costs from other providers. If, for example, you use the free WooCommerce plugin for your eCommerce functionality, you might need to purchase premium extensions from either WooCommerce or from other extension developers depending on your needs for your store. Those you would buy directly from the respective companies who develop them, and their cost is not included in the Business Plan. (While WooCommerce belongs to the same company that owns WordPress.com, no premium WooCommerce extensions are included in the Business Plan).

The same applies to any premium WordPress plugins and third party themes – the Business Plan includes access to all premium themes listed at WordPress.com/themes, but also have the option to buy premium themes from other providers should you want to.

Let me know if you have any more questions about this.
