EU cookie widget re-directs to home page
-
When clicking on the “close and accept” button that appears, the browser re-directs to the home page of my site rather than continuing to load the current page. Is this supposed to happen?
Eg, if a visitor arrives at this page http://news.fitzrovia.org.uk/2015/06/29/camden-to-trial-new-traffic-system-along-torrington-place-and-tavistock-place/
then after clicking the cookie button they are directed to my site’s home page http://news.fitzrovia.org.uk/
Any help appreciated.

I’ve tagged this for Staff assistance. Please be patient while waiting for their response.

Same here.
Thanks, JJ. :)

@galois-just so you know, even if I don’t say it, I generally test what the OP has described before I tag anything for Staff. :)
Cheers and let’s now wait for Staff (being a holiday weekend in the US most likely means a little longer delay)!

Hi all,
Are you still being redirect to the home page? If so could you provide us with your Operating System and browser info? We were unable to replicate this.
-
This has resolved itself for me. I no longer am being redirected to the OP’s homepage after clicking the Accept button. (Chrome 43 and FF 39)

This has resolved itself for me.
Yep, for me too (Opera, Maxthon, Chrome, Chromium, FF, Safari & IE running on W7).

@bdukes it still redirects if the first option in the widget is set — eg this page http://fitzrovia.org.uk/2014/04/24/fitzrovia-neighbourhood-statistics-2014/
But selecting the third option (closes after 30 seconds) it does not re-direct even when clicking on “close and accept”. So I’m using that as a work around.
Note: I have three websites on this domain http://fitzrovia.org.uk/ http://festival.fitzrovia.org.uk/ http://news.fitzrovia.org.uk/
On the last of these three I’m using the work around by selecting the third option in the widget config.
Using Chrome browser on Chrome operating system.

OK-thanks for that extra information and indeed when I clicked Close and Accept on this post http://fitzrovia.org.uk/2014/04/24/fitzrovia-neighbourhood-statistics-2014/ I was redirected to http://fitzrovia.org.uk/
Clicking on Close and Accept on this post (in an incognito window) http://news.fitzrovia.org.uk/2015/06/29/camden-to-trial-new-traffic-system-along-torrington-place-and-tavistock-place/ did not redirect me.
Chrome 43 on both the above on Win7Pro
So apparently there are more variables at play here and I’ve tagged this for Staff again.

Thanks fitzroviacentre,
With the additional information I was able to reproduce and I’ve let our developers know. I’ll report here when I hear back.

@fitzroviacentre,
A fix for this did go live 14 hours ago. If you have any other problems let us know.
Cheers!
