EU reference on the Stats page

On the stats page, what country are you referring to when the European Union is used? I noticed that I have seen individual countries posted versus the EU reference.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The could not figure out the exact country but think the visit is from one of the EU countries

I figured that out. What I don’t understand is that for example, Germany is an EU country, but on the stats page it has always shown up as Germany and not EU. Why is EU showing up now and what does it mean? Did something change?

From the staff response, the EU was added a few months ago and should not replace any countries, I just looked at my stats and I have visits the last week from both Germany & the EU

Do you have a reason you think the Germany stats were replaced with EU?

I have flagged this for staff attention

In looking at the EU countries, a number of them have historically been listed separately on my stats page. Since EU represents 28 countries or so, it’s a little confusing to see it in use all of a sudden. I can’t tell which country is being referenced when EU is being used.

    Hi there,

As auxclass mentioned, the EU will appear when WordPress.com can determine that a visit is coming from a country within the EU but can’t determine exactly which country it is. Whenever WordPress.com knows the exact country, that country will appear in your stats.
