    Dear WordPress,

I had my site mapped to WordPress however i decided to build my simple site using a different platform. I have mapped my site to the new platform and de mapped as much as i could on your admin platform and unsubscribed from all services. However whenever i visit my URL i get the following message:

‘Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. ‘

Perhaps some mapping is still active on the WP side, anyways, I hope someone can assist me in demapping the site.

Hi there, What is the exact URL of the domain in question please?

  • Hi there,

That domain is not pointing to us any more, and we have no control over it.

It’s possible your browser still “remembers” that the domain used to point to us. Clearing your browser cache should resolve that.

I have cleared my cache and also tried from several different computers i still get the same message. it seems to be a notification from WordPress. Any other suggestions?

  • As I said above, we have no control over that domain any more. We lost that the moment you removed the domain mapping upgrade.

That error appears if a domain points to us from the domain provider, but there isn’t a mapping upgrade on our end for the domain to connect to. However, neither your domain’s name servers nor the IP address are pointing to us, so you shouldn’t see that message any more.

How long ago did you change the name servers? If it’s been fewer than 72 hours it’s possible the name servers are still propagating, in which case the only thing you can do is to wait.
