European Union
-
Hi!
Could anyone tell me why at my stats, instead of the name of the country, sometimes I see European Union (and obviously no country flag right next to it)?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Here is how to do a tag search so you don’t create unnecessary threads for questions that have been previously answered.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/visitors-from-european-unionNote the answer from Staff here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/getting-visitors-from-european-union?replies=7#post-2292658

The stats system can’t determine the country where a visitor is from but thinks the visitor is probably located somewhere in the EU – so that instead of “unknown” or just not putting the visitor location up at all

Thank you both for your answers! Timethief… I am kind of new on this wordpress, I am sorry if I created redundancy with my question. I’ll try not to do that next time… :)

I’m piggybacking on what raincoaster posted above because you are a new blogger.
Here are some basics I will share with you.
To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com hosted blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines
It can take weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL. For more information read > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google/ and we cannot help with search engine issues. http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
Added note: Please read https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.

Woow… great training! Thank you! I saved the info.
One question though: since wordpress updated the stats, I cannot open it anymore on my phone: Samsung Galaxy II. Is it the phone or…? -

It shows an overview of the blogs I am part of and I can see some sections like manage, total views, dashboard, posts, and then stats. If I press on the views from today for example, or stats so I can see also the countries or some other details from today, it doesn’t go further.
