Even after deleting all posts manually, reimporting XML does not work

  I have tried to import my old wordpress.org site from xml document but the import has somehow affected image urls to still point to the old wordpress.org site. I had to batch replace the urls in xml file to fix this issue, but….

  Since reimporting an updated xml file does not override existing content, I’ve had to manually delete all posts to be able to import the new xml file. There are a few problems after making multiple attempts at reimporting/deleting:

  – I keep getting errors when I try to empty trash

  – After deleting all published posts, the post count for “All” is still not updated.

  – when I import, only about 10% of content gets imported (for the second time around, 20 more posts than the previous import.)
