  I want to add an event to my blog on the sidebar “Upcoming Events” without the calendar link- I just want to make an announcement. Can I do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can only use the Upcoming Events widget as stated here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/upcoming-events/
  However you can use a text widget > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/
