Eventbrite Malformed Request
-
I’m trying to use the new Eventbrite widget, but when I click to authorize the app, I get:
Malformed request. Please go back to the previous page and try again.
I’m using Firefox on an ancient Windows machine and the bloody Flash won’t update. It’s like being stuck in a steampunk reality only nothing works, ever.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Nada? This is the link of the error page I get https://public-api.wordpress.com/connect/?state=6370985&code=DUL64PNF4QZ2IALZ2G2B&magic=keyring

Eventbrite also does not show up under My Apps https://en.wordpress.com/settings/connected-apps/

Same problem with me. I was suspecting that it might not work with a non-us eventbrite server. Does eventbrite use in Canada also a local server?
Holger -
I am having the same problem, I was thinking the same as my eventbrite account is uk based.
-
Bingo! I think you’ve put your finger on it there. I’m in Canada. I see someone has flagged this for staff, so I’ll just wait and see what they say.
-
Hi everyone, I also reproduced this issue with my non-US Eventbrite account. I reported the issue to our team. Please stay tuned while we work on it! :)
-
Hi WordPress team, how is progress on this issue developing? Trying to authenticate with no luck. My location is Australia and I get the same issue. Would be good if an update could be posted so that I can decide whether to use this service or another.
Also, failing a fix, is there a wordpress.com supported event management plugin other than eventbrite that works?
Thanks, Gina
-
Hi WordPress, yes, please can you give us in Australia an update on if this is near a fix or a rough time frame so we know to go with another theme or not. Thanks.

Same, here… my connection was authorized yesterday. Site Looked beautiful. Full page add running in a local maganize this weekend, directing people to the site. Really need to get this resolved. Thank you for you your help!
Note: I’m from Canada. Eventbrite told me to change my locale on my profile back to the states (by scrolling to the the bottom of the profile page, right hand corner in the dark grey menu bar you’ll find a globe). I changed it to USA… I no longer get a pop up window suggesting I’m in Canada and to revert to eventbrite.ca).
But still hasn’t helped with my wordpress connection.

I wouldn’t expect any staff assistance over the next few days. Staff are on a retreat. If you really need this resolved quickly, just give up on the idea of using this theme or widget and instead use a text widget with a link to your page on Eventbrite.

Having the same problem UK based, I need this sorted now, I’ve got to get a site up by tomorrow, I successfully linked last week to other events but now can’t connect

Thanks @raincoaster. Not the same issue.
The attend event page was a template on the Eventbrite single template.
I added a sentence on that page and lost the the page that used to look like this: https://thesacredroom.eventbrite.com/
And now cannot get it back… sighthe widget purchase ticket:
the button looks fantastic on the side wall, but when I click on it, rather than getting my ticket purchase page, I get this:
http://www.eventbrite.com/event/Array/?ref=wpcta
By the way, Thank you o much for helping me out. -
