eventbrite not connecting to .com website for calendar/events sidebar widget

It doesn’t matter where I approach it from. I go into appearances then widgets, then, under “Sidebar” I have the Eventbrite Widget selected and it asks me if I would like to connect with my Eventbrite account. I click on “Connect” link, it takes me to Eventbrite where it asks if I want to allow access to my Eventbrite account and I click “allow” and then the screen changes back to wordpress->appearances->Widgets with the sidebar section no longer dropped down. When I click on it, I discover nothing has happened and it asks me if I would like to connect. It looks like the last thing it says below at the bottom of the direction information is “Waiting for public-api.wordpress.com…” and then I’m back to where I started.
Back story:
I have had eventbrite attached to my side bar since I joined WordPress and year and a half ago. It has been about 3 months since I’ve used event Brite. I placed two new events on my eventbrite this evening, and they were not showing up on my computer nor the other few which I checked. I thought that because I had changed my email associated with my word press a number of months ago, this might be causing a disconnect, so I uninstalled the widget and changed my email in eventbrite to the same one on my wordpress and tried to reinstall it, which brings me here. Please help. People are going to my website wondering when my concerts are next week and they cant see anything.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh – I was on chat with eventbrite and the woman said “It looks like we’re trying to connect with WordPress’ API to get a key for the integration but it’s freezing”

Hi @sarahsvendsenperformance, you may have some remnants of the old connection stopping you from making a new one. We’ll have a dev take a look at this for you and clear out anything that’s stuck — I’ll update you here as soon as that’s done. Cheers!
