Eventbrite not showing on page
-
Hi,
I now have Eventbrite and my website connected, and the widget is showing up in the background of my site, but when I publish the page it’s just showing up as a link even though I’m using the page template. Any advice why this may be the case? https://ralexweddingsite.wordpress.com/wedding/rsvp/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there! I found this on the Eventbrite support doc that might be what’s causing the problem on your page:
Events can currently be added only to pages at the root of your site (like yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/events), not child pages (like yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/stuff/events).
Can you try setting a non-child page (like: ralexweddingsite.wordpress.com/rsvp/) to use the template and see if that changes anything?
Let me know how it goes!

Hi,
I did that and it’s still showing up as a link – https://ralexweddingsite.wordpress.com/test-2/

Okay, thank you for switching that.
Did you follow the setup steps listed on this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/eventbrite/?
If so, we should give it a while to update and check back. (I know I’ve seen a bit of a delay on these sometimes, so want to see if it clears up after some time now that it’s not a child page.)
I’ll keep an eye on it. Let me know if you notice any changes! :)

I’ve disconnected and reconnected the event brite link, but now the eventbrite template isn’t showing up as an option so that test page is just on the default page. Knowing coding it shouldn’t be that much of a problem whether the template is used or not.
I’ve tested the code on other websites I look after that are not sitting on the WordPress site and it doesn’t work there either which asks the question if it’s something to do with eventbrite? But if others are able to have a page sitting happily on their WordPress site, why would it not work for mine? -
The Eventbrite Events template will only be available as an option when your WordPress.com account is connected to Eventbrite.
Could you please double check that you’re connected to the same account that your event is published under? The can be done via the Sharing section of WordPress.com here:
https://wordpress.com/sharing/ralexweddingsite.wordpress.com
Please disconnect/reconnect if you published the event under a separate Eventbrite account. Also, please make sure that your event is public and live.
Once that’s done, please reassign the Eventbrite Events template to one of your test pages. If the events associated with your connected account aren’t automatically pulled into that page after about 10 minutes, please reply back to let me know and I’ll contact our developers to take a deeper look.
Thank you!

Hi,
I’ve downloaded a plugin to try to upload into the WordPress.com site but it says it does not allow for plugins to be added to the site –
Your site comes pre-installed with a wide variety of plugins. Uploading your own plugins is not available on WordPress.com.
This is my parent test page using the wordpress.com Eventbrite template – https://ralexweddingsite.wordpress.com/test-2/. I have connected and reconnected my account and it will not show the widget on the page.

Hi @earnrmarketinggmailcom: I can see that you’ve recently switched to the Eventbrite Multi Event
theme. Great! Please can you try heading to WP Admin > Appearance > Theme Options:
https://ralexweddingsite.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=theme-options-page
From the drop down menu next to “Events List” please select “Test” and then save your settings. Your upcoming event will then display on your test page. Can you give that a try and let me know how it goes?
We also have the following guidance to get the most out of this theme’s features:
https://wordpress.com/themes/eventbrite-venue/
I’m still not sure why your events weren’t displaying correctly with the Scratchpad theme but will continue to test. Let me know how you get on with those steps using the new theme.
