Eventbrite/WP: no events listing
-
Hi Jonathon, I realize how frustrating this is and I really wish we could give you an ETA. Unfortunately this turns out to be a complex issue to fix. We’ll keep you posted here as we know more.

Thank you, for now I have disabled all the non-performing elements and I’m just linking to the eb profile page, which is a rough list. I will wait to hear and hold out as long as I can I guess… Jonathon

The site has been failing completely now for quite a few hours… any update on when it might be working again?

The site has been failing completely now for quite a few hours
When you say the site is failing, do you mean that the entire site is not loading? Is it back to normal now? If this ever happens again, could you please start a new thread and mark it with the modlook tag in the tags area so someone sees it sooner, or use the live-chat option if available here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

It is the same issue we’ve been talking about for two weeks, except it used to intermittent and now it is broken all the time for the last 24 hours or so:

http://bostonwineschool.com/calendar/
come up blank except for the words No Events -

If there’s anything I can do to help here, please let me know. I am trying to push Eventbrite but no much response. If this theme is dead or can’t be repaired, please just let me know so we can make other plans.

Our developer is working on fixing the issue, which is affecting a handful of people among the thousands using the theme. (I’m sorry you’re one of them!) We’ll continue to keep you posted. There’s no need to contact Eventbrite as the connection issue is something we have to handle on the WordPress.com site.

Hi Jonathon,
We’ve identified our isssues; Eventbrite response times combined with an API feature we use are now causing longer response times, long enough that WordPress is regularly timing out and returning empty results (hence your lack of events on your site).
We’ll be doing an update today or tomorrow to minimize the effect on WordPress.com and get things back to normal for our users, while Eventbrite works on their end to bring response times down for better performance overall.
Thanks again, our apologies for how long this is taking, and I’ll update as soon as we’ve rolled out the fix.

Hi Jonathon,
You should find things are more stable now. We’ll keep working with Eventbrite on improving performance also as time goes on. Thanks again for your help in reporting this, and your patience while we sort out the best fixes!

Events are populating again. Thank you for that. Navigating forward to page 2 or 3 doesn’t work, though. Page 1 just repeats. I’m speculating that this has the same root cause: WordPress + API timeouts.

alchemyimprovcomedy – our developer will have a look at this, thanks for letting us know.

I know it is calling data but it is a bit sluggish, especially compared with other pages. Otherwise working fine. Thanks again…
