Events Manager ecommerce

  Do I need to purchase the Business package if I plan to use the ecommerce engine that is part of Events Manager plugin, or can I do it with the Premium subscription?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello there. I’m sorry if I’m being a little dense, but since you said it was a plugin, are you talking about this? http://wp-events-plugin.com/

  If that’s the case (or a similar plugin), then not even an ecommerce upgrade would allow you to install third party plugins. WordPress.com is a shared environment, so care must be taken to ensure the security and performance of all sites that use the WordPress.com service. Because of that, third-party plugins are not supported. Much of the functionality of the most popular plugins are built-in already.

  There are some ways to do events on WordPress.com, here’s some documents that might be of use. http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=events

  If you were talking about one of those instead of a plugin, I’m sorry about that :)

  You have correctly identified the plugin I am considering: http://wp-events-plugin.com/. Are you saying that this plugin will not work on a WordPress site? If it will, will the payment gateway API work as well? Thanks.

  There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.COM blogs for security reasons, and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.

  If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, conduct ecommerce and edit the database.
