Everyone on here…(ask about the blog.)

    Hello,
If I Place my stories or poetry on here how do I know people are not going to take it and say its theres? Has anyone else thought about this before? I really would like to share them and get feed back on them but I have a unsuring feeling. Can someone please give me advice or help on this. Please and thank you.

    Have a good day,
    Your Guardian Angel Always

    Try doing a forum search.

Actually, if your stuff gets stolen it’s usually not a person doing the work, it’s a computer!

as rain responded, you’ll find many similar threads on this if you search.

that said, yes we get our content stolen all the time and for the profit of others too. there’s nothing really definitive (like a lawsuit) to stop things like that from happening (though if you really tried you might be able to stop a website or two from publishing your content) and it’s very tiring to go after so many of them after a while. so just ignore it, and concentrate on your craft instead. :)

remember, if you don’t want anything by you ripped off by other on the internet, just don’t post it. (well, if you keep it in a protected post then that might minimise the risk.) that would be the best way to protect your content.

Since I started blogging almost three years ago, most of the stuff I placed there were original compositions — with some being written more than ten years ago.

While I wouldn’t want my work to be stolen, I also think that since I am posting them in the internet where anyone can just lift anything without notice, I am also courting the possibility of reading my post with another author’s name on it.

I write for self expression, not for money or popularity. But if someone must use my composition, I hope they could simply mention the source … they could show a bit of respect for a fellow human being by acknowledging the real author

As this is a hobby and as the poster above said a form of self-expression I am actually more than happy if people use my material.

There is nothing monetary involved in this.
