Everything Went Wrong – Lost Intended Username and Website Address to Account Settings Malfunction

So I came back to my WordPress account after years of not using it and decided that I’d like to change my username. I go ahead and do so, changing it from ‘mewkip’ to ‘cosmojg’ and checking the box to create a new website with the new account name. After clicking ‘Save Username,’ the button greyed and became unclickable while the rest of the page still worked. After five minutes, I decided to click the ‘cancel’ button and, lo and behold, my username had been successfully changed. One problem, though: cosmojg.wordpress.com shows up as a deleted website! And I hadn’t even created it yet. Beyond that, mewkip.wordpress.com, which I had deleted prior to changing my username, has come back as a glitchy, empty blog.

I returned to my profile/account settings to see if I could fix anything there and, no matter what I did, I kept receiving an error stating: ‘An active access token must be used to query information about the current user.’ I tried everything from changing my email to changing my password (I couldn’t even click the confirmation button when I tried doing that) to editing my profile details to using this support field. Everything was throwing that same error.

Unfortunately, one of the other things I tried to do was create yet another new username, which threw the same error and froze the webpage. Upon coming back, my username had not changed and everything still wasn’t working. I restarted the browser in frustration to find myself logged out. After logging back in, I find myself in this situation with this crappy username and my webpages bugged and inaccessible.

    Can anyone help me? Please?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All functions of the profile/account settings are now working, including changing my email (for some reason, that changed my profile picture). However, I would still really appreciate having my desired username and web address back.

The problem still has not been resolved and I need this website as soon as possible for my job.

Update: cosmojg.wordpress.com has mysteriously reappeared in “My Sites.” However, the site itself is still in a “deleted” state. I still need help with this issue and I’m growing more and more frustrated as my work becomes further and further behind.

Update: For some reason, my Gravitar is still associated with my old email despite me cancelling the connection and then changing my WordPress.com account’s email address.

I still desperately need help with all of the above issues.
