  Hello, I’m using evgeniavoinova.com as my domain for a few years now. The problem is I thought my domain will auto-renew and unfortunately it expired. Now when it’s too late I can not renew it. How can I continue using the same domain and when can I start using it again?

  Hi Evgenia,

  That domain expired on 14 December and has already been removed from our system. It is currently in redemption with our registrar.

  It is still possible for me to recover the domain at this point, but our registrar charges a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption, on top of the regular renewal fee. Let me know if you agree to that fee and I can get the recovery process started.

  You could also wait for the redemption to end, which will be about another month, but there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to register it again at that point.

  Regarding the auto-renew, we did try to renew your domain several times, but the card we had on file for you was declined by your bank as it expired in February last year, so the renewal attempts failed. We sent you several emails throughout November and December to let you know this happened, but if you didn’t receive those your email provider likely marked them as spam.

  Please let me know if we should proceed with redeeming the domain.

  We have not heard back yet, so I have sent a new email to our domain partner. Normally it takes between 1 and 3 days.
