Examples of custom CSS themes

  I may need to redesign a theme here on blog hosted by WordPress.com. I wasn’t aware of it’s limitations and I’m wondering if I can see some examples of work people have done here. Basically I’d like to see customized CSS on pre-made themes, which I assume is the extent of customization you can do here.

  And yes, customized CSS on pre-made themes is the limitation of what you can do here. You can see some custom CSS that Devblog did for me on my site, but if you start with Sandbox you can do virtually anything in terms of looks.

  If you do a forum search for “Sandbox skins” or “sandbox contest” you’ll probably find lots of examples.

  If you’ve got the abilty and/or the time then Sandbox is the theme to play with. Raincoaster and I both use it, but both sites look totally different. I built mine by starting from one of the competition entries in the Sandbox contest and learning by trial and error – I’d never touched CSS before but you can learn quickly if you really want to.
