  Hi! Is there a way to just have the excerpts of my posts on my homepage? I tried using other themes that support that feature but I like Nucleare better. It’s the excerpt view’s the only thing missing and I would love it if someone can help me with that. Thank you so much! :)

  Hello Kim,
  It seems like you have your homepage set to display your latest posts and it already has excerpts enabled.

  Are you trying to show post excerpts on a static page? If yes, then you can use the Display Posts Shortcode, that can display your posts on any static page. It also has a lot of attribute settings that you can use to display the posts in any way you want.

  For example, to display posts excerpts on a static page you can use this shortcode:
  [display-posts include_excerpt="true"]

  Thank you for your quick reply. :o I was actually able to fix the excerpt problem just now by looking through the WP.com help articles and applying the tips there. I didn’t know there were such articles :o

  I’m looking to try the Display Posts Shortcode too, since I’ve been wanting to add different pages on my blog for a while now.

  Hi @kimterested,

  In order to have just an excerpt displayed on your blog, all you have to do is insert the “Read More” tag into each post where you want the excerpt to end.

  When you edit each post, the Read More button is located next to the Spell Check button in the editor.

  Everything before the “Read More” tag will be displayed on the homepage and then there will be a “Read More” button.

  Thanks for chipping in, but @kimterested isn’t trying to display excerpts on the blog posts page, she is trying to display post excerpts(of all posts) on a static page, so the read more tag wont work there. 🙂

  Thank you so much for your replies, @hawaiiwp & @optidusprime! Sorry if my query was confusing. I’m very new to blogging so I am not familiar with all the terms hehe but thank you so much! Both your tips worked for my site! I’ll continue on working on the Display Posts Shortcode tomorrow :)
