Excerpt field disappeared in Post

  I didn’t change any of my settings, but for some reason, I no longer have the option of editing the excerpt field (which serves as a custom summary of a post).

  What happened? How do I recover the excerpt field?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Is there any chance you disabled it accidentally in the “screen options” tab just above the Post?

  This has happened several times in the last couple of weeks:
  Just go up to screen options, on the top right of your screen and be sure the excerpt module is checked.

  Yep.

  I don’t know how I disabled it…or what caused the box to become unchecked, but that is the problem.

  It’s possibly not anything you did. As I said, it has happened several times to other people.
