excerpt ( image?) link for older posts
-
thanks to justpi, my 3rd post is better organized than the previous ones, but I’ve been told that my blog takes too long to load because it’s heavy on both words and images.
I think I need short excerpts (and images?) from the older posts, along with links to those posts, somewhere on whatever my current post happens to be.
How can I do this?
I think I use Journalist v1.3, and average 2,000 words and 20 images per post.
Thanks in advance

To split content so only an excerpt appears on the front page with a “read more” link visitors can click to read the full post on its own page you insert “the more tag” into each post http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
Alternatively you can switch to using a theme that automatically displays only excerpts on the front page as described above. Fresh and Clean, Grisaille, Inuit Types, Sight, etc. http://wordpress.com/themes/

You also have the option of splitting content by creating pagination for each post. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/nextpage/
