Excerpt in Featured Content (Dara Theme)

    Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to show the blog excerpt in the featured content slider on my site. I’ve been Googling the issue a while and haven’t come across anything that helped so far. Thank you!

    Hi @innerearthbotanicals! You would need a child theme for that, as it would require editing the code.

    As far as the actual code needed goes, though, custom development is outside our scope of support, and honestly I wouldn’t necessarily recommend hiring someone to modify an older theme, since it won’t have all of the features the newer themes support. Better to modify a newer theme to your liking.

    But, if you want to go forward with it, here’s some info on functions related to the excerpts:

    Also, I did just a bit of digging and noticed the file you’d need to override for the child theme is content-featured.php, which is in components > post. If you’re comfortable tinkering and have a test copy you can work with (I wouldn’t edit code for a live site) you might be able to get it. I hope this helps!
