Excerpt not appearing when shared on Facebook

When I share the link to my about page on my Facebook account, the featured image appears but below it has the automated “this is where your excerpt would go” line.
I filled out my excerpt information through my WP Admin dashboard, as well as through Pages itself. Even after leaving both sites the excerpt information is still saved. So I’m not sure why it is not appearing when I try to link it on Facebook.
I can’t add a plug in to fix the issue since I am a .com blog and not a .org blog. I can’t find any permalink option in my settings.
