Excerpt not updating – Urgent

  Hi,

  I recentyl published a post, then changed the original excerpt I had used to a different one afterwards and updated. This was yesterday, yet if I want to post the post on facebook, it still displays the old excerpt. What to do? I have to post it today, so quick help with this would be appreciated.

  Seems like a caching issue. Whenever there is some issue like this.

  You can try this:
  1. Clear your browsers cache and cookies.
  2. Login to WordPress and Facebook.
  3. Share the post and see if it updates it.

  Hi there,

  Facebook caches the preview they fetch when you share a link, so the next time you share the same link Facebook uses the cached preview. They don’t check your site again to see if the content has perhaps changed.

  You can force Facebook to update their cache by running the link through their URL debugger:

  https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=

  Paste in the link, and select Fetch New Scrape Information. You might need to do it a few times before the Facebook preview will update.
