Excerpt on link to my site

    Hi. Whenever I post a link to my WordPress site on Facebook, the excerpt reads ‘This is the home page’s excerpt.’ I have updated the corrected excerpt under ‘more options’ and ‘Excerpt,’ but it’s still appearing incorrectly when I paste the link. Any suggestions?

    Hi georgiabriggsauthor,

    This is not the issue of WordPress.com but I’ll help you out.

    When you paste a link in Facebook, it automatically “scrapes” all information at that link and saves it in its database.

    So even if you update your page, Facebook still has the old information associated with that link.

    To update that information visit this page –
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

    Paste your link, click on debug and then click on “Scrape Again” button. It will then refresh the information associated with that particular link in its database.

    I have already done that for you but I hope this additional info helps you.
