  Hi
  Many thanks for your last support. It immediately answered my question. I am beginning on WordPress.com and managing reasonably. However, I am wanting to have a “homepage” where the “posts” are listed and each has a “excerpt” with read more after it.

  I have tried the excerpt feature but can’t make a link to the text.

  I have also tried the “more” button which works well but everything after the “more” disappears for further reading.

  I would like:
  excerpt folleowd by “more
  excerpt followed by “more”
  etc
  all on one page.

  Hi there,

  You can use the more tag for what you’re trying to achieve.

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

  Any text that’s after the more tag will be available on the single post page, but won’t show up elsewhere.
