excerpts do not work on Independent Publisher theme

  Hello,

  Does anyone use the theme Independent Publisher? I have tried to shorten the text displayed on the home page, but the “excerpts” option does not seem to work.

  Hi,

  According to the Independent Publisher theme page, the blog excerpts feature is not supported: https://wordpress.com/themes/independent-publisher/

  In Independent Publisher you can use the More Tag to display a portion of the post on the blog page:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

  Sure! If you decide to switch themes, in addition to the ones found here which display the excerpt by default, most newer themes provide a setting that allows you to select an excerpt for the blog page via the Content Options panel in the Customizer.
