Excerpts For Old Posts

    I recently purchases a theme that supports excerpts (Swell theme) and am trying to update past posts by adding excerpts so the post page will show summaries of each post. I edited the first post to add an excerpt, testing it out, however the post page still displays the entire post even after my update. What am I doing wrong?
