Excerpts for older posts only

    Hi

I am wondering if there is a way to display my latest few posts in full and then anything older as an excerpt? Do I need to go into the individual posts when I deem them old and manually insert more tags or is there a rule I can apply?

At the moment I do not have the CSS customisation add-on but am considering it, especially if there is some code I can use which will do the above.

I also want to add an additional page titled SUBSCRIBE and insert the Follow Blog widget onto it. Is there anyway to do this in WordPress.com (perhaps with CSS add-on) or is that WordPress.org stuff which is far too techy for me!

    Many thanks in advance

I think so, yes, unless there is a fresh new theme that does that automatically and that I haven’t heard of yet.

The Custom Design upgrade can only change the way a blog looks, not the way it behaves.

You can’t add a widget directly into a post or page’s body. You can only insert widgets in specially marked widget areas (under Apperance > Widgets).
