Exchange domain root name on all pages
-
Greetings, I have a request that seems simple, but haven’t found a solution.
Currently we host a website in WordPress with the domain http://www.conexionpr.org.
Under that domain name we created a separate subdomain http://www.guaquimusicandarts.com (with all the content)
Afterwards we decided that we wanted to use http://www.guaqui.com, since it’s much shorter (no content), so we registered that domain name, and forwarded it to guaqimusicandarts, just for the homepage.
My question is: IS THERE AN OPTION TO REPLACE all of guaquimusicandarts pages to guaqui.
In other words:
When typed http://www.guaqui.com/page go to http://www.guaquimusicandarts.com/page
OR pages created under http://www.guaquimusicandarts.com/page have an address of http://www.guaqui.com/page.
Thank you very much! Luis

Hi Luis! As far as I know, what you’re asking about should be possible.
However, it’s important to note that neither guaquimusicandarts.com nor conexionpr.org are hosted by WordPress.com, so we are not actually the right people to help you with this.
Our Site Profiler tool shows that the name servers are pointed to GreenGeeks hosting. You will need to contact their support team for help with your site. We do not have any access to or control over it.
WordPress itself is a piece of software for building websites. WordPress.com is actually just one of many hosting companies which offers that software — but we are also named after it, so this can often cause confusion. You are using the WordPress software on your site, but WordPress.com is not your hosting provider.

In this scenario, where you want to redirect requests from http://www.guaquimusicandarts.com/ to http://www.guaqui.com/ while preserving the URL path, you can indeed use either a redirection plugin or modify the
.htaccessfile directly to contact with your hosting provider.
